You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go

Bob Dylan, pictured in 1974, while working on what would become Blood on the Tracks.

Situations have ended sad Relationships have all been bad Mine’ve been like Verlaine’s and Rimbaud But there’s no way I can compare All those scenes to this affair Yer gonna make me lonesome when you go

If You See Her Say Hello ~

Bob Dylan, Rolling Thunder Revue Tour 1975  Ken Regan

If you see her, say hello
She might be in North Saigon
She left here in a hurry
I don't know what she was on
You might say that I'm in disarray
And for me time's standing still
Oh, I've never gotten over her
I don't think I ever will
A bright light from me, I saw
A shattering of souls
Just one of them reckless situations
Which nobody controls
Well the menagerie of life rolls by
Right before my eyes
And we'll do the best we can
Which should come at no surprise
If you're makin' love to her
Watch it from the rear
You never know when I'll be back
Or liable to appear
Oh it's as natural to dream of peace
As it is for rules to break
But right now I got not much to lose
So you better stay awake
Sundown, silver moon
Hitting on the date (days?)
My head can't understand no more
What my heart don't tolerate
But I know she'll be back some day
Of that there is no doubt
And when that moment comes, Lord
Give me the strength to keep her out.

Live in San Francisco 1965

Taken in the alley behind City Lights bookstore in December of 1965.  The alley has since been renamed Jack Kerouac Alley. Allen Ginsberg, who my friend and fellow photographer Larry Kennan and I had visited and photographed several times, had some of the photos we had made of him propped up on the mantel above the fireplace of his Fell Street Flat.  When Bob Dylan visited Ginsberg, he saw the photographs Larry and I had made and said he would like Larry and me to photograph Allen, McClure and him together.  Allen set up the shoot on the day following Dylan's concert at the Berkeley Community Theater.  We had about ten minutes with Dylan.  At first we were the only ones in the alley.  But as soon as people realized it was Bob Dylan, a crowd began to form.  A man took out a camera and began taking photographs.  Allen admonished him and asked him to stop.  "This is these guys' gig," he told him pointing to Larry and me, "not yours."

Till The Next Goodbye

The official promo video for the Rolling Stones song "Till The Next Time" from the album It's Only Rock 'N' Roll. Written by Jagger/ Richards, the song features Mick Jagger on vocals and guitar, Keith Richards on guitar and backing vocals, Charlie Watts on drums, Mick Taylor on guitar, Nicky Hopkins on piano and Bill Wyman on bass.

Honey, is there any place that you would like to eat? I know a coffee shop down on Fifty-Second Street And I don't need no fancy food and I don't need no fancy wine And I sure don't need the tears you cry Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time we say goodbye I'll be thinking of you I'll be thinking of you Yeah, a movie house on Forty-Second Street Ain't a very likely place for you and I to meet Watching the snow swirl around your hair and around your feet And I'm thinking to myself she surely looks a treat Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time that we kiss goodnight I'll be thinking of you I'll be thinking of you I can't go on like this, can ya? Can ya? I can't go on like this, can ya? You give me a cure all from New Orleans Now that's a recipe I sure do need Some cider vinegar and some elderberry wine May cure all your ills, but it can't cure mine Your Lou'siana recipes have let me down Your Lou'siana recipes have surely let me down Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time that we kiss goodnight Till the next time we say goodbye Till the next time we say goodbye I'll be thinking of you I'll be thinking of you Till the next time that we say good bye Til the next time that we kiss goodnight

Spanish Harlem Incident

This is an excellent cover of Spanish Harlem Incident by by Gary Henry.
Video was recorded in 720p HD with a Kodak EasyShare Z1012 IS.
Audio was captured on a Sony Vaio laptop by way of a Shure SM-58 microphone attached to an M-Audio MobilePre USB external sound card. Audio and video were mixed using some basic editing software where equalization and reverb were also applied to the audio track. Video was cropped, converted to grayscale, and rendered at 640x480 pixels.
The audio and video were recorded in a single take with no overdubs or additional tracks.

WRITTEN BY: BOB DYLAN

Gypsy gal, the hands of Harlem
Cannot hold you to its heat
Your temperature’s too hot for taming
Your flaming feet burn up the street
I am homeless, come and take me
Into reach of your rattling drums
Let me know, babe, about my fortune
Down along my restless palms

Gypsy gal, you got me swallowed
I have fallen far beneath
Your pearly eyes, so fast an’ slashing
An’ your flashing diamond teeth
The night is pitch black, come an’ make my
Pale face fit into place, ah, please!
Let me know, babe, I’m nearly drowning
If it’s you my lifelines trace

I been wond’rin’ all about me
Ever since I seen you there
On the cliffs of your wildcat charms I’m riding
I know I’m ’round you but I don’t know where
You have slayed me, you have made me
I got to laugh halfways off my heels
I got to know, babe, will you surround me?
So I can tell if I’m really real
